Fernando Alonso cam 4th in Shanghai in his Ferrari and sits just one point behind Rosberg.

Vitaly Petrov will also have been happy with his drive in China after seventh place in the Renault earned him his first point of the season.

The Spanish Grand Prix is expected to provided large crowds with local hero Fernando Alonso, who will surely be determined to perform well in front of for his home turf.

It seems that most of the drivers know this circuit well, from previous testing days, but setting up the right aerodynamics on the car and tyre strategy will prove key. in fact, this race last year, Jenson Button won starting from pole.

Final qualifying sessions in Barcelona will take place on Saturday 8th May with the actual race starting at 1:00pm on Sunday 9th May.
