CDMA has long been considered by Nokia as an industry standard in the field of radio communication technology. It stands for Code Division Multiple Access, it allows for a single bandwidth for the shared usage of different frequencies 'or multiplexing. Basically, the bandwidth will carry various streams but the streams will only be readable to specific devices. Prior to the use of CDMAone for GPS technology, code division multiple access was used.

Supporting CDMA

In support of CDMA technology, Nokia released three CDMA mobile phones in China. The most interesting of the bunch is the Nokia 3806, it's a standard-looking GSM device but it is being marketed mostly for being a compact companion. Now, by default, mobile phones are small devices that are always carried around -which literally makes all mobile phone compact companions.

But Nokia is taking the meaning a step further by adding a few features that makes having the phone around a little more useful. The 3806 has a 'Health Assistant', and from what we gather from reports, this feature will keep track of biometrics allowing users to see their daily stress levels. Though we have not seen the exact details of this feature, we assume that it records blood pressure ratings and other similar bodily functions.

Other Nokia CDMA Phones

Accompanying the 3806 are the Nokia 1506 and the Nokia 6316s. The two devices, as stated above, are also CDMA phones. They were launched together in China (it has not been confirmed if the two devices we also launched in India 'like the 3806).

The Nokia 6316s, of the three devices, is the most stylish and impressive looking device. The 6316s is a slider phone with a posh stainless steel casing. The phone seems like an expensive, fashionable little gadget with features to match. According to sources, the price is very reasonable, so that is certainly good news. The phone sports a humble 2.2 inch screen and a 2 mega pixel snapper.

The Nokia 1506 is the most budget-looking device of the group and well, it really is. The phone sports straightforward features and nothing more. Like any standard GSM device, this one has a speaker phone function and hands free. As you might expect from Nokia, all the devices have various colors to choose from. The 6316s and the 3806 have three colors to choose from while the 1506 has two.

The 3806

One of the main features in the Nokia 3806 is the health assistant. The phone is able to keep track of the user's stress levels, allowing the user to undertake necessary measure when their stress levels are very high.

This function could prove to be very helpful particularly in societies where the stress levels are often high, such as in most capitals where fast paced industries often leave people worn out. The exact capabilities of the phone have not been disclosed, but it would be a good assumption to say that the phone will keep track of simple biological functions such as breathing, blood pressure and heart rate in order to determine if the person is 'stressed' or not. Now stress has been linked to many illnesses so this data should be very useful.
